With past releases such as “Until Your Heart Stops” and “Beyond Hypothermia”, Cave In made their mark as one of the heaviest and most extreme bands coming out of the Boston hardcore scene (along with label mates and friends Converge & Isis) and were making waves worldwide. Soon after, with the release of “Jupiter” they were more than just a band to mosh to, but indeed made some beautiful and incredibly inspiring music. Similarly, vocalist Stephen Brodsky’s vocal style extended from pure screams to wonderful singing. After their return to Hydrahead Records, Cave In knew it was time to get their sound redefined again, mixing their old style with new elements. With the release of “Perfect Pitch Black”, Cave In proved they were back and quite possibly released their greatest record to date. Sure to please the old fans and turn some new heads!
